A Town architectural report names Southlake among Chilton’s curvilinear Palm Beach designs. A local building history describes original apartment construction in 1961 and conversion to condominium ownership in 1969; these are different milestones.
Architecture and residences
Southlake’s curves frame changing views along the marina side of the island. The building guide describes white lattice balcony details, garden spaces and some lanai residences with outdoor circulation. Those elements make the relationship between indoor and outdoor space a central part of an apartment’s character.
Over time, some balconies have been enclosed. As a result, two apartments with similar original plans may now offer quite different living arrangements. One may preserve an open place for dining outside, while another uses the former terrace as a sitting room or additional interior space. An inspected listing for 2F illustrates how extra rooms can sit alongside the principal bedrooms. Such a configuration should be assessed as a particular renovation, not the original specification of every residence.
Services and shared spaces
Published information identifies a swimming pool, attended service, an on-site manager and parking. The landscaped pool area is a useful complement to the marina-facing setting. Some guides also mention additional shared rooms; their current equipment and availability should be confirmed during a visit. Proximity to the Town Docks does not establish a boat slip included with an apartment.
What to know if buying
Reconcile enclosed terrace space before comparing price per square foot. Request approved plans, the association’s records and the measurement basis for the listing. Establish whether the enclosure is conditioned space and how its windows and exterior surfaces are maintained. Then assess whether the resulting layout actually suits how you live. A larger advertised interior may come with less open outdoor area.
