The Roebling Research Desk · October 2026
Ibis brings a substantial residential golf community to the western side of West Palm Beach. Its entrance on Northlake Boulevard leads to neighborhoods arranged around fairways, lakes and natural surroundings near Grassy Waters Preserve. With 33 neighborhoods and homes ranging from condominiums to estate residences, choosing Ibis is the beginning of the search. The next decision is which part of this extensive community suits the way you want to live.
The Club at Ibis is on the mainland, with its clubhouse address at 8225 Ibis Boulevard. Ibis Isle, on Palm Beach island, is a separate residential area.

A landscape of neighborhoods
The club describes a property of approximately 1,923 acres. Its residential collection includes golf villas, condominiums, single-family houses and estate-style homes. Neighborhoods such as Orchid Hammock and Orchid Reserve introduce condominium choices, while the broader community also accommodates detached houses with their own outdoor living areas.
This variety creates meaningful differences within one gate. Compare the amount of private outdoor space, the relationship between the living room and terrace, and the responsibilities attached to the particular ownership form. A condominium can suit someone who wants fewer individual exterior-maintenance tasks; a detached house may provide more control over a garden, pool or entertaining area. The association documents for the actual property establish that division of responsibility.
Location within Ibis deserves its own showing itinerary. Drive from each candidate home to the clubhouse, fitness facilities and entrance. At a golf-facing house, identify whether the outlook crosses a fairway, green or cart route. At a lake-facing property, examine the opposite shoreline and the orientation of the principal rooms. These details make a more useful comparison than grouping every residence under a single golf-view label.
Three courses and a substantial club life
Golf is central to Ibis. The Legend Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, the Heritage by Jack Nicklaus II, and the Tradition by Steve Nicklaus. Together they provide 54 holes, with a separate practice facility. The Tradition's links-inspired layout brings a different design vocabulary to the collection.
The established club program also encompasses tennis, pickleball, swimming, fitness, a spa and dining. Member activities extend into photography, performing arts, painting and film. For a household with different interests, the practical attraction is the ability to build several routines around the same community, rather than requiring every owner to organize the day around golf.
Ibis publishes Tennis, Signature Golf and Premier Golf membership categories. Their privileges differ, making the membership selection an important part of the residential decision. Obtain the current category terms with the purchase materials, including the application process and any conditions affecting the desired category. The house, its neighborhood association and the club program should be evaluated together.
The 2026 renovation matters to a purchase
Ibis announced a member-approved $63 million capital investment plan in 2026. Its contractor subsequently reported that the multi-year campus improvement program began on August 4, 2026, starting with clubhouse interiors. Later phases include racquet facilities, a new spa, fitness expansion and additional dining and gathering space. These improvements belong to the construction program; they should be distinguished from the facilities available on the day of a visit.
A buyer planning an immediate winter season should request the current operating schedule and construction phasing. Someone considering a longer horizon should examine the capital obligations associated with the particular purchase. Both questions are more informative than treating a rendering as a completed amenity.
Life beyond the entrance
Grassy Waters Preserve gives this part of West Palm Beach a distinctive environmental setting. The city describes a wetland landscape of tree islands and forested hammocks, with public trails and guided educational outings. Those public recreation opportunities are separate from the club's grounds. Test the Northlake Boulevard route to the destinations you expect to use regularly, including downtown and the coast.
For another West Palm Beach golf setting, compare Bear Lakes, where the residential enclaves and private club require separate investigation. For an urban house search, El Cid offers historic architecture near the Intracoastal.
