DUMBO

DUMBO is the reinforced-concrete factory district between the two bridges, designated a historic district in 2007. Every building we track here is a condominium, and they divide cleanly in two: Robert Gair's early-century daylight factories converted to lofts from 1998 onward, and the ground-up waterfront towers built since 2010. The two carry very differently. District membership stops at Bridge Street and is not universal, which matters more than buyers expect once a renovation is involved.
