Hamilton Heights
Hamilton Heights runs along the ridge above 135th Street, taking in the Sugar Hill blocks, City College's neo-Gothic campus, and one of Manhattan's better-preserved concentrations of rowhouse and early apartment-house architecture. The apartment stock is largely pre-war, largely co-op, and priced well below anything comparable further south. Buyers here are frequently financing rather than paying cash, which makes the neighborhood more sensitive to rate movement than most of Manhattan.
