Little Italy

Little Italy has contracted to a few blocks around Mulberry Street, hemmed in by Nolita above and Chinatown below. The residential stock is small pre-war buildings and a limited number of condominium conversions, and turnover is low enough that the neighborhood rarely produces a large annual sample. Buyers are usually choosing the specific streetscape, and which side of which block matters more here than in most neighborhoods — the blocks closest to Mulberry carry heavy pedestrian and restaurant traffic that runs late and peaks seasonally.
