Lake Point Tower

A guide to Lake Point Tower at Old Port Cove: waterfront tower apartments, two-story lanai residences, broad balconies and marina surroundings in North Palm Beach.

The Roebling Research Desk · October 2026

Lake Point Tower occupies a waterfront position within Old Port Cove, the peninsula community off US Highway 1 in the Village of North Palm Beach. The condominium at 100 Lakeshore Drive combines tower apartments with 12 two-story lanai residences. Broad balconies and outlooks across the marina and Lake Worth Lagoon give it a residential character closely tied to the water.

Dating to 1982, it offers an established alternative to the newer condominium developments nearby. Its identity depends on both scales: the individual building and the larger Old Port Cove grounds through which residents arrive and walk.

Tower apartments and lanai homes

The association describes a typical tower arrangement of eight apartments per floor and publishes a corresponding collection of eight plan types. These plans are a useful starting point for understanding the building’s different exposures. Buyers should match them to the current apartment, since individual renovations may have changed the original room arrangement.

The lanai homes introduce another format. Their two-level configuration offers another way to distribute living and sleeping areas. A County record for one lanai residence identifies it as a condominium and records both a base level and finished upper story. The house-like layout therefore sits within a condominium ownership structure.

In the tower, elevation and orientation determine how much of the marina, lagoon and distant Atlantic enters the outlook. At lower levels, the relationship to landscaping and activity on the grounds becomes more immediate. Neither format can be judged by square footage alone: circulation, stairs, terrace shape and the position of the principal rooms deserve equal attention.

The building and Old Port Cove

The association’s public website describes a waterfront pool, hot tub, saunas, fitness facilities, recreation rooms and a library. Underground parking and a staffed front desk support the building’s daily operation. The wider Old Port Cove setting includes a waterfront walking route, a marina and a gated entrance.

These are distinct layers of the experience. The pool and shared rooms serve life at the building, while walking around the peninsula brings residents into the larger community. A marina view may be a central attraction, but a boat berth requires its own arrangement; it should not be inferred from ownership of an apartment overlooking the docks.

Buildings to compare

  • Water Club North Palm Beach offers a newer waterfront development with three towers and villas, making it a useful comparison of residential formats.
  • Azure offers lower-rise buildings and landscaped grounds beside a marina in Palm Beach Gardens.
  • Nautilus 220 combines recently completed towers with ground-floor dining and other commercial uses in neighboring Lake Park.

What to know if you are buying

Identify tower or lanai, then separate the building from the larger community. Review the exact residence’s plan and the obligations applying to both its condominium and Old Port Cove setting. For a lanai home, trace the stairs and outdoor areas; for a tower apartment, compare the balcony’s orientation and the route from parking to the front door.
