About the building
Bergen 17 occupies a former manufacturing loft building converted and enlarged for residential use. DOB signed off the alteration under Jeffrey Cole in September 2009, establishing four dwellings across five floors. The approximately 35-foot-wide structure gives the apartments broad living spaces and a larger footprint than a conventional narrow townhouse. Its keyed elevator serves the residences directly.
The building contains a garden apartment, full-floor middle residences and a duplex penthouse. The garden home opens to a substantial rear outdoor area; the middle homes have three-bedroom layouts. The penthouse extends over two levels with five bedrooms, multiple terraces and roof space. A two-car garage has been offered separately and has interior access to the elevator. The garage includes electric-vehicle charging equipment.

Sales sourced from NYC Department of Finance recorded transfers (BBL 3-00280-7503) and verified listing data. Apartment-level facts (line, condition, asking-price context) curated and cross-verified by The Roebling Team research desk. Not all transactions cross-verify with ACRIS records — sponsor and LLC purchases sometimes record at stipulated values rather than market price; square footage from recorded condo declarations and offering plans.
At the recent median sale of $7.39M (4 sales since 2024), a buyer putting 25% down would pay about $348,158 to close, or 4.7% of the price.

What to know if you’re buying
The garage is a separate part of the purchase. Its availability does not mean parking accompanies every apartment. Ownership of the garage, its elevator access and its share of building expenses need to match the particular transaction; the four residences also support the common elevator and exterior together.

How to read the facts on this page. Items attributed to an offering plan describe the building as it was offered at that filing — unit mix, square footage, the amenity program as planned. They are not a statement about how the building operates today. Tax and compliance figures are sourced separately to current City records and carry their own dates. House rules, staffing and fee policy can change by board resolution without any public filing: treat every policy line here as a starting point for diligence and confirm it with the managing agent. Where this page compares one building or neighborhood to another, that is our analysis of the recorded record — it names the measure, the period and the sample it rests on, and it is an observation about medians rather than a prediction about any particular apartment.
