Boca Country Club Community Guide
Explore the Boca Country Club residential community and its relationship to the public Boca Raton Golf and Racquet Club, including the 2021 municipal transition.
The Roebling Research Desk · October 2026
Boca Country Club is the familiar residential name for the Boca Golf and Tennis community along the Congress Avenue corridor north of Clint Moore Road. The golf facility within that setting is now the city-operated Boca Raton Golf and Racquet Club. The distinction is central to understanding the neighborhood.
The City of Boca Raton assumed ownership and operations in October 2021, and public golf play began that November. The surrounding homes retained their own residential associations. A house here should therefore be evaluated as a home beside a public golf facility, with its own association obligations, rather than as a purchase into the former private resort-club arrangement.

The significance of the municipal transition
The donation of the former club property and the city's subsequent operation changed the recreational model. Golf is available through the public facility's booking and fee system. Residents should establish which current rate or booking category applies to their circumstances rather than assume that a Boca mailing address confers city-resident terms.
The transition also brought a program of renovations. The city's history records removal of the old tennis courts and filling of the former swimming pool; current racquet facilities, and any plan to replace them, should be confirmed with the city. The facility's name alone is not evidence that all of the amenities once associated with the private club are available today.
This history makes careful description particularly important. A listing's reference to the former resort relationship may be background rather than a transferable benefit. Club access and residential ownership need to be reviewed on their current terms.
Houses, attached residences and association differences
The residential community contains several ownership settings, including townhomes. Each should be compared through its actual floor plan, outdoor space and maintenance responsibilities. A golf outlook can provide visual depth without a large private garden, while an interior position may offer a different balance of privacy and proximity to shared facilities.
For an attached home, establish how walls, roofs, exterior paint and landscaped areas are maintained. The association budget may cover items that a detached-house owner would purchase individually. Those differences affect carrying costs and the amount of time required to look after the property.
Inside the home, consider the location of bedrooms, stairs and storage. A renovated kitchen may improve daily use, but it does not necessarily change the underlying circulation. Check whether enclosed patios and other additions are reflected in the permitted plans and the stated living area.
Living beside public golf
The course is a significant part of the landscape and a recreational resource. Evaluate a course-facing property from its terrace and principal rooms, noting cart paths, maintenance routes and the relationship to neighboring houses. The broadest view is not always the most private outdoor setting.
The residential entrance and internal route also deserve a visit during active periods. Distinguish access to the home from access to the golf facility. For ownership costs, obtain the applicable association budgets, any pending capital work and the current public recreation charges for activities the household expects to use.
Useful comparisons
Boca Pointe combines a village-based residential setting with a separate private club. Boca Grove and Bocaire offer residential club alternatives. The Boca Raton guide explains the wider range of options.
