Le Lac Community Guide

A guide to Le Lac in the Boca Raton area, with large lake estates, individual architecture, private grounds and ownership considerations.

The Roebling Research Desk · October 2026

Le Lac is an inland estate community whose scale is best understood through its land and lakes. Individual properties have room for substantial houses and outdoor living, and the landscape plays a larger role in the experience than a standardized amenity program. It is a useful comparison for buyers seeking a private estate in the Boca Raton area.

The community sits north of Clint Moore Road and has Boca Raton mailing addresses. County records identify the residential parcels as unincorporated Palm Beach County. Its lake setting should be distinguished from navigable coastal waterfront: a view across inland water does not establish access to the Intracoastal or ocean.

A long-established estate setting

Le Lac's property owners association was incorporated in 1979. Individual house histories span different periods. The County record for 6008 Le Lac Road identifies a 1986 residence on 3.39 acres, with a two-story plan and extensive porch areas. The amount of covered exterior space illustrates how an estate can distribute daily living beyond its enclosed rooms.

A more recent example is 6029 Le Lac Road, recorded as a 2021 residence on 2.26 acres. Its two-story form includes a substantial interior, with separate recorded pool, gazebo and basketball-court improvements. These are attributes of that property, not shared amenities provided to all residents.

The two examples also show why acreage and interior size should be considered together. A larger house can occupy more of a smaller parcel; an older residence on more land may offer a different relationship to the garden. Neither measure describes the entire experience by itself.

Architecture and the way an estate works

A custom house reflects the priorities of the household for whom it was built. A substantial bedroom wing may work well for extended stays by guests. An elaborate entertaining plan may create rooms that are seldom used by a smaller household. Consider whether the distribution of space supports ordinary days as well as occasional gatherings.

Outdoor circulation deserves a similar review. The connection between kitchen, terrace, pool and lawn can make a property easier to use without enlarging it. A long approach may provide separation from the street but also increase the amount of landscape and hardscape to maintain. On a tour, walk the property rather than viewing the grounds only from the house.

For lakefront parcels, the survey and association documents should clarify shoreline limits, easements and permitted activities. Dock or water-sports arrangements should be established for the property and intended use. Photographs of recreational equipment do not determine what a subsequent owner may install or operate.

Ownership and costs

The association and the individual estate have different roles in the ownership budget. A community charge does not encompass the full cost of caring for a large residence and private grounds. Pools, specialized mechanical equipment, roof areas and landscape systems should be reviewed individually, particularly when a property will be occupied seasonally.

Current association documents should identify dues, transfer contributions, exterior approval procedures and any rules affecting guests or leasing. For a renovation or replacement house, the usable building envelope matters more than the gross parcel size. Develop the design brief around documented constraints before comparing construction budgets.

Useful comparisons

Long Lake Estates and Fieldbrook Estates provide additional estate settings within the Boca Raton market. The Sanctuary shifts the comparison toward coastal waterways and marina facilities.
