The Roebling Research Desk · October 2026
Boca Inlet is a waterfront condominium at 701 East Camino Real, beside the meeting of Lake Boca Raton and the Intracoastal Waterway. Built in 1965, it is an early Arvida condominium with architecture credited by the association to Charles F. McKirahan and Associates.
The twelve-floor building offers a lake-and-waterway perspective rather than direct ocean frontage. Its marina, pool and shared waterfront spaces make the water part of daily life beyond the view from an apartment.

Architecture and an early condominium setting
The association's historical account describes a building designed in relation to the nearby hotel and the established residential character of Boca Raton. The result belongs to the city's mid-century expansion, when condominium apartments were becoming an important alternative to individual houses along the coast.
Its original planning emphasized entry foyers, separate interior rooms and shared lounges at ground level. Those details help explain the residential approach, while present-day apartments may have been altered significantly. Historical descriptions of finishes and equipment should not be assumed to apply to every home today.
The building's position beside the water gives it a different character from an oceanfront tower. Boats, docks and the changing activity on Lake Boca form part of the immediate landscape. The most useful apartment comparison considers how that outlook is framed from the living room, bedrooms and any outdoor area.
Homes and interior plans
County records identify Residence 7J as a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment of 1,247 square feet. The association's historical material also describes a range of apartment types, so a specific measured plan is the right starting point for evaluating a home.
Marina and shared facilities
The association describes a marina, heated pool, waterfront barbecue areas, lounge and card-room facilities. These spaces make the waterside grounds an important part of the property. Covered parking and additional storage also appear in the association's account of the building.
For a boating household, the marina is a significant reason to investigate Boca Inlet. The existence of docks, however, is separate from the right to use a particular slip. Availability, vessel suitability and transfer terms should be understood before treating boating access as part of an apartment purchase.
Proximity to The Boca Raton and its beach facilities does not establish a membership entitlement. The condominium's own facilities and any separately obtained club arrangement are different considerations.
Nearby comparisons
The Carlton offers a later lakefront tower on East Camino Real. Mizner Court provides a lower-rise waterfront setting, while Chalfonte combines direct beachfront towers with marina facilities.
